The legendary Fleetwood Mac have today announced that they will be returning to Australia for a six-date arena tour across August and September. As one of the first mammoth tour announcements for 2019, the Grammy winning band responsible for hits like “Dreams” and “Go Your Own Way” will be making stops in Perth, Brisbane, Sydney and Melbourne, with the latter two cities getting two shows each.
The tour will feature the band’s new line-up of Mick Fleetwood, John McVie, Stevie Nicks, and Christine McVie along with newcomers Mike Campbell and Neil Finn, all fresh off a massive North American tour which saw them play over 50 shows.
On welcoming the new line-up, Mick Fleetwood said that everyone is “thrilled to welcome the musical talents of the calibre of Mike Campbell and Neil Finn into the Mac family”.
“all the hits that the fans love, plus we’ll be surprising our audiences with some tracks from our historic catalogue of songs”, he added. “Fleetwood Mac has always been a creative evolution. We look forward to honouring that spirit on this upcoming tour”.
The tour will kick off on August 9th in Perth, after which it will head to Brisbane on August 20th. Sydney will get shows on the 27th and 29th August, while the tour spills over into September with shows in Melbourne on 2nd and 4th. The most glaring part about this schedule is the amount of space between the dates, which could possibly mean that more shows will be announced following the inevitable sell outs.
Tickets for Sydney and Perth shows go on sale at 12 noon local time, and Melbourne and Brisbane from 1pm local time, on Friday, January 25. Optus customers will get a special pre-sale on January 22nd, detailed here.
