Perth’s Noah Dillon has exploded on to the national scene of late, garnering attention from Triple J and punters up and down Australia’s East Coast on his recent tour. So, we’re particularly excited today to bring the exclusive premiere of a live studio video of his latest single “Holding On”.
Recorded live at Tunafish Studio, the video was filmed and edited by Hal Foster, with Broderick Madden-Scott on production duties for the single. Raw, unpolished and unabashedly intimate, the accompanying video proves to be the best accompaniment for a song that is high in emotion and catharsis. It’s also, for those that haven’t had the please, a great glimpse into Dillon’s live show. Granted the video is more stylised than a live show would be, but you get the idea.
Written about the death of a close friend, “Holding On”, proved to be something of a coping mechanism for Dillon, as he explains: “This song looks into the enormity and injustice of death at such a young age and the trail of destruction, questioning and emptiness it leaves behind for the loved ones around them. After the initial impart of losing a friend that had passed I found a fear in returning to my normal routine and life moving along without them. The title of the song is in reference to holding onto the things that make my life keep spinning for the person thats no longer here because thats what they would want.”
Dillon’s national tour returns home this week, with the first of several shows taking place across Western Australia for the rest of March. It’s also be announced that Dillon will be playing a set at RTRFM’s now iconic In The Pines event in April. So, if you’re in WA, you’ve got plenty of opportunities to catch a show.
“Holding On” is available now. You can keep up to date with Noah Dillon via Facebook and Instagram.
