Sydney-rockers Bad Pony have just released a high-octane killer-track “Villain”. They have spent much of 2019 writing new material, and this is their first release, which bodes well for them in 2020.
Singer Jarred Young told the AU Review exclusively, “Creating villain has been such a fun process. The tune is about judgment, existential apathy and some pretty confronting characters I would come across whilst living in St Kilda last year. The themes are quite grim but we approached the production for it like an 80s horror-themed musical. We took the darkness and covered it in sonic glitter.”
The song was recorded in the Hunter Valley, in Pokolbin by Bad Pony and Sam Thomlinson.
“Villain” is a wild raucous romp. With a jolly refrain of ‘we’re all going to die sometime’, this is breezy glam rock that deals with the darker-underbelly. It’s is bound to cause some seriously sweaty moves on the dance floor when played live. Speaking of playing live, they have some gigs lined up in January and February which is great news. Their shows are always high-energy and a good night is guaranteed. The dates are below.
