Top 20 Splendour in the Grass 2010 Music Videos: Part Two – 15 to 11

splendour-video-part-2

We’re back with the best music videos from the bands you can’t miss at Splendour in the Grass 2010! You better believe we’re excited… So without further ado, here’s 15 to 11:

15

LCD Soundsystem – Drunk Girls

Coming in at number 15 is the brand new track from LCD Soundsystem, “Drunk Girls”. They’re well known for making tongue and cheek (read: AWESOME) dance music, and this is no exception. But the music video definitely takes it to a whole new level of absurdity. We couldn’t enjoy it more, and we can’t wait to dance ourselves into oblivion on the Splendour (dance)floor!

Black Rebel Motorcycle Club – Weapon of Choice

They’re a band who are going to have a cult following for the rest of existence. They’re a band who are rock and roll through and through. They’re a band who are amazing live. They’re a band who now have a girl on drums!? Yes, a lot has changed since they were last in town, so no excuse will do – they’re a must see act at SITG! And this is Weapon of Choice, one of my favourite videos and songs by the band. It was hard to pick just the one, to be honest.

Violent Soho – Love is a Heavy Word

These Brisbane boys are single handedly reminding us why we all love Grunge. Because it’s dirty. Because it’s filthy. Because it’s fly-in-your-face-until-it-hurts-and-then-let’s-dance. Their live performances are fast becoming things of legend, and in this music video you can already see why. I couldn’t think of any better place for that intensity to run wild than at Splendour in the Grass. Free up your schedules and make sure you don’t miss these guys!

Passion Pit – The Reeling

I love this music video. I love this band. I love this song. I know they’re over-hyped, but I don’t care. They were great fun at Big Day Out too – and we all know you’ll be there, dancing to this track, alongside myself! If you’ve ever seen me at Spectrum, you know what I’m talking about…

11

Angus and Julia Stone – And The Boys

I don’t think I need to say much to give reason for including this track on the list. You’ll probably just ask me “why wasn’t it higher!?” When Julia’s voice comes through on this track, I swear grown men weap. I recently caught this live for the first time at Bluesfest and let it be said that I can’t wait to hear it live again. I didn’t tear up at all! I swear!

See you next week for the final 10 tracks!
