Canada's Elliott BROOD set to unleash ‘Mountain Meadows’ on One Movement and all across the east coast!

Elliott BROOD are an explosive live trio out of Toronto Canada with a worldwide reputation from winning over legions of fans with their raw and energetic live shows and their atmospheric, richly crafted records.

Having recently supported Wilco, Broken Social Scene and the Black Crowes in Canada and Europe, Elliott BROOD will be saddling up on the shores of Australia for their second ever visit in support of their new release, ‘Mountain Meadows’ as well as a handful of key performances at One Movement and around the country with The Fumes.

‘Mountain Meadows’ marks the evolution of Elliott BROOD’s mystique, from a curious backwoods figure to a timeless rogue character and the band continues to employ the commando recording style of their previous releases, utilising remote location recordings (town halls, hunting lodge, mountain cabin) – this time around, the album was compiled and embellished at John Critchley’s soon-to-become-legendary Green Door Studio. You can seek out elements of the location history in any Elliott BROOD record, and this is no exception. Driving acoustic guitars, ukulele, banjo, piano and their patented stomps combine here to take you on the journey which is loosely based on real and fictional stories from a roadside wagon train ambush and massacre (of the same name) in Utah in the 1850’s.

With a more than commendable collection of Juno and Polaris Prize nominations and shortlistings, upon release in Canada and the US, ‘Mountain Meadows’ debuted at #2 on the Exclaim! Magazine national radio chart (Canada) and #37 in the Top 40 Americana Music Association respectively. These accolades leading to the band being asked to score the soundtrack for the Sundance Film Festival nominated, “Grown up Movie Star”, and music cues for the teen television drama “Kyle XY”.
