The 31st of March will see Event Cinema’s George St host the ‘Not Quite Sound’ Relief Show at their cinema complex in an effort to raise funds for the QLD Premier’s Disaster Relief Appeal. This independently run show will see a unique use of the cinematic environment as it collaborates with the
music industry to put on a one of a kind show featuring an exceptional 4 artist line-up of Australia’s most promising emerging independent artists; Stu Larsen (QLD), Montpelier (QLD), The Former Love Pirates and Set Sail.
Things have been moving fast for headliners Set Sail in 2011, who will be launching their single on the night. They will be coming up from Melbourne for the show taking a break from recording before they embark on a hectic international touring schedule and are sure to bring their distinctive energy and engaging live show to the in-cinema stage.
With no fixed address, the nomadic traveler and ever captivating Stu Larsen will be bringing tracks from his upcoming EP to be released later this year, recorded with Tim Hart (Boy & Bear) and Luke Thompson (NZ). Following the success of their highly acclaimed single, ‘Last Boat’, Brisbane favorites Montpelier will also be making their way down from north of the border especially for the show.
Supported by The Spit Press, MusicNSW – Indent and the AU Review, as well as Event Cinemas George St donating the cinema completely free of charge, this completely youth run event is set to be great night of live music for all-ages and showcases some high caliber talent going around in the ever growing music scene.
