New Music Videos: Metronomy "The Look" and Parkway Drive "Karma"!

You’ll well know by now that we’re not defined by genre here at the AU review. So today we thought we’d throw together two very different bands in our new music video series.

First up, UK electro pop darlings Metronomy are back with their scintillating third album, The English Riviera, out May 6th on renowned French label Because Music.

You’ve probably already heard “She Wants”, the first free download from this forthcoming album, and now they’ve released the entrancing follow-up single “The Look”. It’s constructed around the kind of all conquering synth riff reminiscent of ‘80’s Culture Club that will no doubt see the track become a firm favourite come the winter music festivals. Here’s the music video!

With a host of remixes from Fred Falke, Ghost Poet, Moonlight Manners and King Krue, Metronomy’s ‘The Look’ will also be released as a digital EP on Friday April 8th prior to the albums release.

Next we have a band on the other side of the musical spectrum: Byron Bay metalcore giants Parkway Drive. They have released a new music video “Karma” from their critically acclaimed, ARIA award winning (“Best Hard Rock/Heavy Metal Album”) record, Deep Blue.

The video is set on the beaches of Dolphins Beach, Byron Bay, giving fans a glimpse of Parkway Drive in their element, a place where heavy riffs meet the serenity of the shoreline and where hardcore breakdowns meet offshore breaks.

“We saw a real opportunity for a unique video for a band of this style,” said director Caleb Graham, who draws from his experience directing surf videos. “It’s something that represents the bands lifestyle in a fun and accurate way.”
