the AU interview: Stamping Grounds Festival with She Rex, Little Bastard, Particles, Over Reactor, Fouulhawk and B-Massive.

Scheduled to take place over two stages at the Manning Bar over the Labour Day weekend, the Stamping Grounds Festival aims to create a platform for the up and coming to showcase their musical goods alongside some of the more established names on the Sydney scene. It’s an opportunity to forge relationships with like-minded people, make friends and network with the music community. We caught up with a few of the bands playing to talk about the festival and more!

B-MASSIVE

Tell us what you’re up to at the moment?

Well B-Massive are busy putting down tracks recording all the music we have written over the last year. We feel more then ready to record now so it’s awesome pressing the record button. Myself I’ve been extremely busy working out of my studio Keysound studios producing, recording, mixing also teaching drums with my Jedi drumming school, plus recording drums for my other new band THE NERVE! So lots going on always!!

Who are you most excited to see on the Stamping Grounds bill?

Very much looking forward to playing with B-Massive it’s our first festival so we are very pumped. My friends OVER REACTOR are headlining so I’m rapped to be spending the day hanging out with them and seeing them play live again. All the other bands too, some I haven’t seen at all so looking forward to checking it all out.

What can we expect from your performance on the day?

We bring you B-Massive very much alive, amped and we play it like its our last gig, lay it down kind of attitude if you will!! We play from our hearts and we’ll be getting you in that festival rock’n mood thats for sure.

Musical highlight of the year so far?

I think after rehearsing for so long and getting the music right, it would have to be starting the recording process for me. We have also had some great shows, all good all different!

What will the rest of 2012 be bringing for you?

Thing keep changing, we’re easily bored and constantly challenging ourselves.

Our set comes first on my list, that’s all I’m focusing on atm. But I’m looking forward to Gay Paris, Cash Savage and the Last Drinks, and my good friend Lucius Borich’s new band B Massive. Should be a great day!

Jamming with the machines to produce a funky as fuck/grimy/dirty hip-hop show. We call it “Death-Hop” for a reason. One thing to remember: bring your dancing pants.

Musical highlight of the year so far?

Upgrading our equipment and going into lock-down rehearsals in our home town Melbourne. It was great to have time to play and experiment, and the results speak for themselves.

We’re playing Festival Of The Sun in Port Maquarie in December, Creepshow Festival in Melbourne in October, and launching our new single “The Throne” with a massive tour through November/December. The film clip for “The Throne” has been shot already, and it has to be seen to be believed. We’re going to make some more film clips too.
