Last month we raved about the new Big Village compilation, and now we’re proud to be premiering the new music video for the track “Get Ya Twisted” by Klue and Billy Rose, featuring P. Smuf. Here’s with Klue had to say about the track:
“One of the focuses of the Big Things Volume Two project was to team up members from different acts who hadn’t worked together to collaborate on new tracks. This saw producer Klue of True Vibenation team up with Mc’s Billie Rose and P Smurf of Daily Meds. Klue had written the instrumentation as a reggae infused dubstep track that he had been playing in club sets but when he passed it on to Billie Rose and P Smurf with the working title ‘Get Ya Twisted’ they extended on the theme and came back the next week with a killer hook and some rapid-fire double time verses that completed the track as a banging hip hop hybrid.”
“The lyrics from the two mc’s poke fun at the contradictory expectations of modern society and the corruption of young minds by mainstream media, all the while maintaining matching the fire of the monstrous bass driven beat. The aesthetic created by film maker Holden Davies is the perfect companion to the track, matching its raw energy and dark, twisted vibes.”
Big Village has undertaken the audacious task of taking their entire label on the road for the BIG THINGS tour across September / October. The tour will feature the full roster of current label acts including Tuka and Ellesquire performing a dual headline set, Daily Meds fresh from their ‘Happy Daze’ album release and tour and True Vibenation who also recently completed their own national tour. Coming along for the ride are Loose Change, Reverse Polarities and speed-draw-freestyle-rap-gameshow Sketch The Rhyme, featuring Big
Village members Rapaport, P.Smurf and Jeswon.
