the AU review turned five years old last week, and to celebrate, throughout the month of August we’re asking many of our musician friends to help us look back on the last five years of music! To continue, we asked Sydney goth rock band, As Angels Bleed about their top five musical moments and albums from the last five years…
Our top 5 musical moments of the last 5 years…
Most of this time was spent locked away in our Sydney Studio producing our debut album. Von and I wrote and rewrote the album until we were completely happy with each song. This process took a little longer than usual, but we were really pleased with the result and consistency we achieved throughout the album. If we had to rank the top five moments, though, here we go:
1. Mixing our album with Mark Lewis & Eyal Levi at Audio Hammer Studios (Trivium, Devil Driver, Death Angel)
2. Our first Sydney live show, you never know what’s gonna happen on the first show!
3. Filming our first video clip for ‘Desire’. (Also, the longest day of our lives, but well worth it)
4. Catching up with our good friends Nightwish on their recent Australian tour.
5. Putting our live band together and seeing our complicated symphonic gothic metal live sound come to life.
