Four NSW artists set to join Eminem, Pearl Jam, OutKast and more at the 2014 Austin City Limits Festival.

One of our favourite US Festivals without question is Austin City Limits – a festival put on by C3 Events (the guys behind Lollapalooza in Chicago, and also co-presenters of Big Day Out here in Australia) over two weekends in Austin every October. It’s hard to believe we’re talking about it already, but today marked the announcement for this year’s event, set to be headlined by Eminem, the already leaked Splendour headliners Outkast and recent Big Day Out headliners Pearl Jam.

Beck, Lana Del Rey, Lorde (Weekend Two Only), Foster The People and, surprisingly, The Replacements, are among the other acts to sit amongst the top of the pack. Following last year’s disappointing turnout in the electronic world, a renewed focus for the genre sees Skrillex, Calvin Harris, Major Lazer and Zedd among the electronic artists set to make up for it… and then some.

And then there are the Australians! Four Aussie acts will be waving the flag for us over there, and all will be playing both weekends. So far, this is: Iggy Azalea, Jagwar Ma, The Preatures and Falls (formerly The Falls). And it should also be pointed out that all four acts originally hail from Sydney (or NSW at the very least). Take that Melbourne! But I digress…

Three other acts in particular we’re excited to see grace the bill are Tune-Yards, Belle and Sebastian, and Spoon – all of whom seem to be returning to the live stage after some time away to work on other projects and/or their latest record… though these names barely scratch the surface!

Austin City Limits will take place in Austin, Texas over two weekends, in a similar strategy to Coachella. Essentially the same lineup will play both weekends, with a few exceptions here and there. The dates this year are October 3rd to 5th and 10th to the 12th, 2014. The full line-ups are below, and for tickets and more details, head to: http://www.aclfestival.com/‎
