As they head to Music Matters in Singapore (along with us!), Melbourne indie pop folk band Tully on Tully share with us their adventures from (and en route to) Canadian Music Week in Toronto! Part one begins after the jump…
We’re officially off! Flying to Sydney for our connect to LAX then onto New York to catch up with Natalie for a few days R&R. Hopefully everything goes smoothly!
After 40 hours in transit we’ve finally in the big apple – Brooklyn to be precise. The Beastie Boys song has never been so applicable.
After a few days soaking up the New York sun it was time to head to Canada, oh Canada.
We arrived in Toronto for Canadian Music Week this afternoon and the first thing we did was fill our arteries with poutine. Then settled in to our 29th storey apartment.
Canadian Music Week was full of all kinds of music business events; we tried to pack in as many conferences as possible to learn what we could about the industry we love and network with other like-minded people (as well as schmoozing up to some big wigs in the biz). Of course, afterwards we’d all celebrate, especially when our publisher Stephen was buying rounds.
Getting set for our first show in Toronto tonight at Handlebar!! Really vibing on Canada so far! Of course, Natalie forgot her hairbrush so she made a quick visit to the hair salon to fix it up before getting pumped up for the gig.
Last night at Handlebar was amazing! We shared the stage with a bunch of great Canadian artists. The Kerouacs and Jane’s Party really blew us away, check ‘em out! Also, the décor at the Handlebar was exquisite – perfect for family photos.
