Watch as Sydney group Bonez attempt to perform Taylor Swift's "Shake It Off" in the Triple J Studios Foyer

We’ve been deliberately trying to avoid taking part in the whole “Taylor Swift for Hottest 100” debate because, frankly, too many people were talking about it and it was a bandwagon we didn’t want to be a part of. We’re glad people are talking about Australian music though (as a byproduct) and ultimately, we just want to see great Australian artists get supported by the public and therefore the countdown. So that’s our two cents… but then we got sent this video and knew we had to post it. It’s pretty hilarious.

Sydney Rock act Bonez took to the ABC Studios in Sydney this week to pay Triple J a visit for their 40th Birthday celebrations. What started out as a tongue-in-cheek brainwave to give the Youth Broadcaster a laugh in light of recent press coverage ended with the Rockers being shut down and asked to leave the premises.

With one member donning a shirt that said “Support Independent Media”, the band trekked into the ABC building on foot and dropped a cover of the Taylor Swift song “Shake it Off”. Watch the clip here the band put together themselves:

Bonez brings more edgy endeavour when they set off on a 2 month tour of the East Coast of Australia this weekend with the ‘Make a Scene’ Tour on the back of new single release ‘Lemonade’, which is currently sitting at #6 on the Triple J Unearthed Rock Charts.
