Marquee Las Vegas are temporarily lending us their main man, Jason Lema to rock the upcoming Belvedere Winter Ball White Party at Marquee Sydney. It all goes down on June 27th, and with Lema in charge we thought it’d be a good idea to catch up with the renowned DJ to get a picture of where he’s at in 2015 and what he’ll be bringing to that pumped up, white-washed room come Winter Ball.
How have your sets changed over the years and what can we expect from your show in Australia?
Over the years I’ve learned to take chances and experiment with new music that should be heard that sometimes is not necessarily on Beatports Top 100. You can expect familiar vocals mixed with chunky tribal high energy beats .
What are you looking forward to during your time down under?
I’m always looking forward to seeing my Marquee family as well as drinking some great coffee and dining at some the great restaurants in Sydney.
What’s the most challenging thing about living the DJ lifestyle?
The most challenging part of my lifestyle is getting enough sleep and staying up to date with the freshest tunes out .
Most amusing thing that’s happened while you’ve played a set?
Well just recently I had a drunken girl throw her shoe at me and knock my flash drive out of the Cd player which killed the music . The amusing part was watching her cry as she was escorted off property LOL. I thought it was priceless .
What’s your favourite venue to play (and why)?
This year I’ve landed a monthly residency at E11EVEN in Miami . This venue has become the hottest club in Miami and it helps that it never closes yes I said NEVER closes . E11EVEN has the only 24hr liquor license in Florida so 24/7 its open and when I play I usually start at 5am to 11am nonstop House music. Heaven 🙂
Three favourite tracks that you’re listening to at the moment?
Gold Dust (Hook N Sling remix)
Another You (Headhunterz Remix)
Are you with me (Dash Berlin Remix)
Describe what 2015 has been like for you as a DJ so far this year?
This year has been great I’ve been very productive working on new music and have 4 records to put out . I’ve also landed some pretty cool gigs in Greece, Jamaica and South America .
Tell us about what you have planned for your set at Marquee Sydney Belvedere Winter Ball?
Well I plan on bringing the hottest sounds from Las Vegas and what I get from all the shows at EDC. I want to make sure Sydney gets a taste of some Chunky, Bouncy Lema Fire!
