After completing a ‘song a day’ writing project last year, Wollongong artist Kay Proudlove was left with an array of tunes with various themes. Some of the songs have morphed into potential album tracks for Kay’s next release, whereas others such as “Good Soil” have been found to have other uses.
Written around this time last year, “Good Soil” is a song inspired by the motto ‘Grow Hope’ – a slogan used by Daffodil Day in their fundraising campaign for cancer research. After tucking it away in the archives, Kay has resurfaced and rerecorded the song in hopes that it will do some good at a time where it seems everyone knows somebody that is or has been affected by cancer in one of its many forms.
Tracked, mixed and mastered at Silver Sound Recording Studio, who donated a day of recording time to the cause, the “Good Soil” single is now available at http://www.kayproudlove.bandcamp.com/ for a donation of $2 or more via the ‘pay what you like’ feature. All proceeds will be donated to Daffodil Day to help them reach their 2015 fundraising target of $8.5 million so dig deep!
