Track of the Day: Alex The Astronaut “Lost” (2020)

Alex the Astronaut has just dropped the first single, “Lost”, off her forthcoming debut album, The Theory of Absolutely Nothing. Her two previous EP’s To Whom It May Concern and See You Soon demonstrated her innate ability of this gifted songwriter to capture the zeitgeist of our times.

With her songs, you always feel like she is singing directly to you., Her upbeat vocals, neat guitars and down-to-earth story-telling style always grip you closely. She makes the difficult look easy.

Alex explains that “Lost” is about trying to find your way and fix everything, and the moment where you’ve exhausted all options and have to accept the fact that there is so much that is completely out of your control: sometimes you will just feel lost. The song is pivoted around a moment of change when someone is walking new ground and they really don’t know what’s to come. For me it’s one of those “one goes out, one comes in” times when you lose what you hoped things would be like but you get to move through a different world that maybe will show you something you didn’t know you would see.”

The Theory of Absolutely Nothing will be released on the 21st August.  You can pre-order it HERE
