Huawei is bringing back the popular Matebook X Pro with beefed up specs to the Australian market, placing a larger focus on integration and beefed up specs. Following the recent launch of the P40 series, the Chinese tech company is making it more attractive to jump into its ecosystem with this 13.9-inch device.
The 2020 edition of the Huawei MateBook X Pro will come with a hefty A$3,299 price tag and is now available at stores like JB Hi-Fi and Mobileciti. You’ll be getting a lot of value though, with an impressive spec sheet running through 16GB RAM and 1TB of SSD storage, a gamer-friendly Nvidia GeForce MX250 graphics chip, and an 10th-gen Intel Core i7-10510U processor.
Design wise, expect a generous 33.9-inch LTPS display with supports up to a 3K resolution (3000×2000) with 10-point multi-touch and up to 450 nitts. On the sides will be 2 USB-C ports, 1 USB-A port, and a headphone jack.
“The proliferation of smart technology has fundamentally changed the way we live, with everyday Aussies now demanding seamless connectivity, high performance and intelligence from their devices,” said Larking Huang, Managing Director of Huawei Consumer Business in Australia. “The all-new Huawei MateBook X Pro delivers on this, epitomising Huawei’s signature design and craftsmanship in a high-performance, powerful solution.”
Integration will be a defining feature for the new laptop, which is great news for those who already own an up-to-date Huawei phone. Laptop users will be able to easily transfer photos and documents, share screen recordings and use clipboard functions for both devices when they are in sync. Additionally, laptop accessories such as the keyboard, camera, mic and mouse will also be able to be used as smartphone peripherals.
Australian consumers planning to pick up a MateBook X Pro 2020 would be wise to do it by 17th June, as the company is currently offering a bonus pair of complimentary (and complementary) FreeBuds 3 active noise cancellation Bluetooth headphones with the device.
Huawei users looking for more wallet-friendly options should also pay attention the company’s other line of laptops released in the Australian market. This includes the MateBook 13 at A$1,499, the MateBook D 15 at A$1,199, and the MateBook D 14 at A$1,399.
