What music or artists inspired you?
I always liked music which had a certain ambience about it. People like Jeff Buckley and Matt Corby are the sorts of artists who inspire what I am writing at the moment but I had such a wide range of music when I was growing up that there are elements of loads of different things in my music.
How did you get started?
When I was living in England in 2012 I started to write more of my own songs and had time to start singing again. I eventually got the courage up to do a few open mic nights in country pubs and I suppose it just went from there. The pub gigs were mostly covers because I didn’t have many of my own songs!
How would you best describe your live show:
Ambient and haunting but still with a feel-good factor
What shows do you have coming up?
The Sparrow and Seed Tour:
The Vanguard- Sydney- 12th February
No 5 Church St- Bellingen- 14th February
Tell us about your latest release:
Sparrow and Seed is mainly about the way in which we respond emotionally to our experiences, especially how we see them differently afterwards. It took quite a while for me to get the finished song, I made sure I spent as much time in the studio getting the right feel and I think I enjoyed it much more because of it!
Where can I get your music?
