Melbourne duo Big Scary create music that ranges in depth and breadth; from flat out rollicking rock to sweet, sentimental keyboard ballads. Their new single “Mix Tape” is another gorgeous pop gem full of tinkling keys and sweeping guitars that perfectly compliment Tom Iansek’s passionate vocal delivery. “Mix Tape” is full of youthful exuberance and passions gone awry that has been neatly packaged into an uplifting three minute tune.
Big Scary have found a formula that works for them with catchy versus that are backed up by a soaring sing-along-chorus “I ain’t even here. I’m just bored, I don’t know what to do with my love”. “Mix Tape” is a good taste of even better things to come when the band releases their debut record later this year.
