Sydney-based multi-instrumentalist singer-songwriter, Luke Hansen, is about to drop his debut EP, Simple Minds. Ahead of its release, we have the exclusive premiere of “Time”, one of the tracks off this beautiful EP. It’s a heady, dreamy concoction of electric folk-rock and psych-rock welded together by killer guitars. The central theme to the song is growing from errors from one’s past, proving that a little introspection can be a good thing.
“Time” is a beautiful sonic journey, Hansen’s voice has an earthy honest feel to it, with the guitars delivering intensity and joy. From the opening chords to the final refrain, “Time” is a tantalising mix. This is a cracking tune, beautifully put together and the guitar solos are absolutely top class.
This is the third single from Hansen. “Time” follows on from “Who Am I” and “Simple Minds”, both of which were released earlier this year.
Hansen’s music is a creative amalgam of the styles which have influenced him. These are wide-reaching, from folk to blues to psych-rock. Helping him out on the EP, was BlackSpace (Jonathon Samuels) at MinkiNova Records and Benjamen Samuels.
Simple Minds will be released this Friday, 6th November 2020 on all digital platforms.
