The fourth album, French by Spilled Blood from Perth rockers The Scotch of Saint James is not far from being released, and we are thrilled today to be premiering “Cafe”, which is the third and final single from the album. “Cafe” opens with slick Latin grooves, building joyously with world music vibes. The funky guitars in the frenetic climax are a potent celebration of what is a wild and enjoyable journey. This is a tune to dance to. They joyously combine a variety of musical influences into their own signature sound.
It’s been quite some time since the band’s last album. The founding members of the band had been overseas on other projects, and on their return to Australia, they hooked up again and restarted the project. They relocated to a recording studio in rural WA to finish off “Cafe” and eleven other tracks for their upcoming album.
The Scotch Of Saint James are Michael Paver on vocals and guitar, Bobby Burgess also on vocals and guitar, Red M Redmond on vocals and bass and Tim Stacey on drums. About the song, Michael Pavers says “It’s a song about giving into your demons, be them legal or otherwise. Sometimes we all must learn to say no.”.
French by Spilled Blood, is due to be released on the 29th of October. “Cafe” will be released on all streaming platforms on the 1st of October. In the meantime, do enjoy our premiere.
