I don’t know what the weather’s like where you are, but here in Brisbane its grey, stormy, and absolutely perfect for a track like “Waiting for the Sun“. And with The Terrifying Lows (aka Tyler Millott) due to drop his first studio album later this month, now’s definitely the time to get across the Melbourne-based Gamilaroi artist.
“Waiting for the Sun” saw Millott record across a number of different spaces, including The Aviary Studios, the studio space of drummer Pete Marin, and his own home studio. Teaming with Alex Markwell (The Delta Riggs) and Joe Carra (POND, The Drones) on mixing and mastering respectively, the end result is a track that’s layered, grungy, and atmospheric as hell.
Millott says:
“‘Waiting For The Sun’ is about a strange and dark time in my life when, for a long while, I was having very vivid and graphically violent nightmares and I was doing just about anything to stay up and not go to sleep. I can’t remember how long this went on for. Any length of time I pull out of my memory of this period seems too absurd to be real.”
