The Gum Ball festival is an absolute gem of an event and will be held amongst the eucalypts at Dashville at Lower Belford, over the last weekend of the April school holidays, 21-23rd April 2023.
The final round of announcements has been made with the legendary Baby Animals being added to the bill. Featuring Suzi Demarchi on lead vocals, it’s going to be a highlight. Other additions include the original founding member of The Skyhooks with Bob ‘Bongo’ Starkie and his incredible Skyhooks Show.
Gambirra Mob, an indigenous 12-piece have also been added, as well as newcomers Dande and The Lion. Victoria’s Coda Chroma will be playing their atmospheric soundscapes.
Headlining the bill for Gum Ball 2023 is the legendary Mudhoney from the USA. It’s been nine long years since the Seattle four-piece were last in Australia, and their potent hard-hitting lyrics delivered with swagger and kick-arse guitars are going to rock the frestival.
Paul Dempsey is always popular, and will be a standout for many. One of my favourites from BIGSOUND last year, was Full Flower Moon Band, and I can’t wait to see them again.
For those that are unfamiliar with Gum Ball, it’s most definitely a family-friendly festival. During the day there are activities for the kids, and it very much has an inclusive vibe where everyone is welcome. As well as the music, there is a skateboard ramp, stalls, workshops and a range of food options.
The Gum Ball runs from 2pm Friday, April 21 all the way through to Monday morning, 24th April 2023. Full weekend tickets are $260. Discounted prices for pensioners and kids. Glamping options are available.
