Sydney’s epic Sneakerland is back for the ultimate kick in December

Niche hobby festivals are always worth checking out in Sydney, especially when you’re looking for something new to do as the silly season approaches.

In early December, all eyes will be on Sneakerland, which arrives in town after a successful run in Perth and Melbourne.

And you don’t really need a synopsis to know what it’s all about. Sneakerland is about every single conceivable thing you can think of to do with sneakers, street culture and the community that revolves around it.

It’ll take place at Carriageworks on Saturday 2nd December with a full day (9 AM – 5 PM) of activities including over 50 vendors to shop from including Foot Locker and Throwback store.

And while having all your sneaker shopping for the year taken care of in one hit is the main attraction, Sneakerland also swells into a mammoth cultural event to pack the day with things to do. Expect food trucks, a bar, haircuts, a tattoo stand, DJ’s and roving entertainment to really build up an immersive atmosphere dedicated to nothing but fresh kicks.

People will be able to sell, trade and even just window shop their way around some of the rarest sneakers, streetwear pieces and apparel on the market. There’ll even be a museum exhibit curated by the Throwback store, dedicated to basketball’s golden era.

Given we here at the AU are all about hobbies and discovery, we figure this will be the perfect showcase for street fashion in the lead-up to Christmas. If you’re interested in attending head on over to Ticketmaster.
