We’ve been big fans of Melbourne-based singer/songwriter Acchy since we showcased his 2021 single, “Never Falling in Love Again”. That track was written in response to a relationship that didn’t work out, so we’re thrilled to be premiering today the flip side of that emotion, the heartwarming “when i met you’.
Acchy has built a reputation for writing songs that are relatable. He writes from the heart, telling his tales of love, love lost, mental health, addiction and trauma. I believe it’s much harder to write a quality love song, than a breakup song, and he has certainly come up with the goods in “when i met you”.
The track is driven by some quality acoustic guitar, allowing the lyrics to shine. The opening lines lay the ground for the newfound love “This years been different / Cut back on drinking / Stopped over thinking / And now I’m obsessed over you …”.
The track celebrates the beauty of love, which has undoubtedly taken a hold: “Got me doing some things / I ain’t used to / Cause I ain’t ever felt like this before / I’m only wanting you and nothing more”. This will flush out the most hardened cynic.
“when i met you” weaves together the excitement of a new relationship, the thrill of not knowing where it will go next, and the intense desire to keep it going. With his acoustic guitar and melodic vocals, Acchy has captured these emotions brilliantly.
