Chloe Sea is an emerging singer/songwriter from the Barossa Valley in the heart of Ngadjuri country. At only seventeen years old, Chloe has proven herself to be a gifted musician, with the full composite of skills. As well as being a talented guitarist, she is a songwriter whose lyrics resonate easily with her generation. Chloe has a voice well matched to her folk/pop stylings. Last month she released “Call it a Day”, a reflection on a relationship that had run its course. It’s always exciting to catch an artist in the early stages of their career, and we are stoked to be premiering Chloe’s debut video for “Call it a Day”.
Writing about the video’s release, Chloe told the AU, “I’m so, so excited to release my debut music video. This video is such a significant milestone for my artist journey and I’m so thankful for the support from Carclew who helped to make this dream a reality.
It’s been a labour of love that’s been many months in the making and it’s just so exciting to finally have it out in the world.
I really hope my music and my song resonates with people.”
Undoubtedly, anyone who has been in a relationship with the wrong person will resonate with “Call it a Day”. I’m sensing that Taylor Swift and Florence are inspirations. The rhythm and energy of the track are neatly paired with the strength and courage in the decision to call quits on the relationship. It’s a beautifully crafted song from a musician in the early stages of their career.
The video is beautifully shot, with some fabulous coastal images at various times of the day. I love the energy of it—no doubt there is much to look forward to from Chloe Sea in 2024.
