Yeah, you read that right.
Knotfest 2024 is just around the corner, with headlining acts Pantera, Disturbed and Lamb of God, but before the event has even kicked off a massive announcement has dropped- Slipknot themselves will be headlining next year’s Knotfest, bringing their 25th anniversary tour down under.
I’ll be honest, I was surprised when I learned that Slipknot don’t play Knotfest every year, given that- you know, it’s their festival. But the event has been hugely successful each year despite this, bringing massive heavy music acts to Australia, which is refreshing given that there seems to be mainly indie music festivals popping up left, right and centre these days.
In 2023, Slipknot announced the departure of drummer Jay Weinburg and since then there has been no news on a replacement. Until now! On Saturday, the band’s official Instagram account posted a photo of a broken drumstick along with the caption “Rehearsal.”, and fans are speculating hard on who the new member may be. The main suspect is former Sepultura member Eloy Casagrande, with attentive fans pointing out that Casagrande is a Promark endorsee, the same brand of drumstick featured in the image.
The rest of the 2025 line up will be released later in the year, but if you want to be sure to catch Slipknot next year, you better go ahead and grab a ticket to this years show, because Knotfest 2024 ticket holders will receive exclusive access to the first release of tickets for Knotfest 2025, prior to any presales.
