Yes! Norweigan’s girl in red has announced today that she is heading back to Australia in July, playing in Perth, Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane. Her latest album, I’M DOING IT AGAIN BABY! has just been released, and her DOING IT AGAIN tour is heading our way.
Marie Ulven, the moniker for girl in red, won a legion of fans with her debut single, “i wanna be your girlfriend”. Her relatable songs about love and relationships have resonated strongly and have earnt her an ardent following. Her first album, if i could make it go quiet was our album of the week on release, and her live shows are equally impressive. She has become an icon and role model for the queer community and for young women in particular.
Marie writes about the new album, I’M DOING IT AGAIN BABY!: “The past five years have been so insane, and that I’ve been given this opportunity is insane. But I think what’s really hitting me now is that I need to pursue music fully, and that’s something I want to do with this record. I just want to go all in on girl in red in 2024. I’m at a point where I’m willing to fly.”. We are certainly glad that she is flying to Australia to bring the magic here.
In February last year, girl in red had a couple of headline shows in Australia to support her Laneway appearance, and they were among the hardest tickets to get your hands on. We went to the Sydney show, and the queue to get in was around the block by the time the doors opened. Tickets will sell out quickly – so don’t delay on this one.
The presale kicks off this Friday. The details are below. We believe that Adelaide might also be in the mix too for a visit, so be sure to signup here for details as they are announced.
