Exclusive Video Premiere: TYDE “Latte Partay” (2024)

TYDE

Hailing from Meanjin, the fem–led TYDE know how to bring in the good times. Last month they released the raucus “Latte Partay”, a genre-bending, funky, groovy ball of explosion, and we are thrilled today to be premering their awesome new video to accompany this feel-good track.

With a booming bass line, and a vibrant horn section (trumpets and sax get me going every time), “Latte Partay”  is a clever fusion of disco, funk, pop and rock. With an infectious groove, the band gives us their own unique take on what’s important and upbeat optimism in a time when cozzie livs is biting! The video is just as much fun as the track, it oozes the spirit and joy of friendships and community.

Frontwoman Ella Belfanti states: “The ‘Latte Partay’ music video is a collective-existential-spiral at a house party in the void about the cost of cost of living crisis and climate change. Like the song, it laughs and dances through the struggles young people face, and celebrates community, caffeine and letting loose with your mates.”

It’s little surprise that the band has some impressive live appearances under their belt. They’ve already performed at Byron Bay Bluesfest twice, played YONDER Festival, and also supported the great Harry James Angus. Impressive stuff for a band with just a handful of releases to date.

To celebrate the release of “Latte Partay”, TYDES is heading on tour. They will be playing Brisbane, Wollongong, Sydney and Melbourne, kicking off on the 16th of May. All the dates and venues are below.

Forget your problems, rejoice in the power and strength of  your friendships and get lost in the upbeat and glorious “Latte Partay”.
