Ah, 2012. The Year of the YouTuber. If you’re in your mid-late twenties and anything like me, this was your prime. Not much compares to the feeling of getting home from school, raiding the pantry for snacks, and catching up on the latest vlogs and videos from Zoella, Tyler Oakley, and of course, Dan and Phil. While most of the OGs have drifted away from YouTube and now enjoy quieter lives, basking in the benefits of their past success, one thing remains constant: Dan and Phil.
Reviving their gaming channel, DanAndPhilGames, around eight months ago, the dynamic duo reignited their vibrant community. Explaining Dan and Phil to the uninitiated is no easy task, but if you know, you know. The British pair began their separate YouTube channels around 2010 and skyrocketed to fame with their collaboration videos. Their content was delightfully random and quirky (millennial cringe, I know, but you just had to be there). As their careers progressed, they released books, went on tour, and, most importantly, started playing Sims on their gaming channel.
Though they have continued to post regularly, it wasn’t until December 2023 that they decided to revive their gaming channel, truly bringing Phan (and Dil) back to life. Now, they’re embarking on a world tour and making their way back to Australia. Aptly named Terrible Influence, the show aims to “heal your inner child and take back what the internet took from them.” In a night that promises hilarious commentaries, savage roasts, and scandalous stories they couldn’t share in their golden days, fans will be hit with a wave of nostalgia and are guaranteed an amazing time.
The tour will visit Brisbane, Sydney, Perth, Melbourne, and Adelaide. Tickets are selling extremely fast, with a second Sydney show added due to popular demand and only limited tickets remaining in Melbourne.
Whether you’ve been there since the beginning or you’re a newer fan, Terrible Influence is a guaranteed good time for all! Be quick to snatch up your tickets HERE.
