Adelaide Film Festival teases the first six movies for their 2024 season

The Adelaide Film Festival runs between 23th October and 3rd November and will feature the movie The Correspondent. The opening night gala marks the world premier of this gripping movie. Directed by Kriv Stenders, The Correspondent stars Richard Roxburgh as Australian war correspondent Peter Greste who was arrested and jailed in Cairo, Egypt in 2013, while working for broadcaster Al Jazeera.

Stenders, Roxburgh, Greste and producer Carmel Travers will attend the AFF Opening Night red carpet gala event at The Piccadilly cinema with an after-party at Hindley Street Music Hall.

Other movies showing at the AFF include a zombie thriller from Writer/director Zak Hilditch, We Bury the Dead, Indian filmmaker Payal Kapadia’s story of two Mumbai nurses escaping relationship pressures, All We Imagine as Light and an Australian documentary about incarcerated women learning to play musical  instruments. There’s also a fantasy fiction thriller of a stay-at-home mum who realises that she is turning into a dog, Nightbitch, and Steve McQueen’s Blitz, which follows the epic journey of George (Elliott Heffernan), a 9-year-old boy in World War II London whose mother Rita (Saoirse Ronan) sends him to safety.
