Alt-emo duo Those Who Dream release new EP Therapy Machine

Alternative-emo outfit Those Who Dream (siblings Josh and Hazel Meyer) have just dropped their latest EP, Therapy Machine.

Mixed in house by vocalist Josh, whose past credits include The Amity Affliction, AViVA, and Chez), and mastered by Ted Jensen (Green Day, Deftness, and Post Malone), Therapy Machine is exactly what we’ve come to expect from the genre-bending duo, fusing elements of alternative rock, nu-metal, pop, and emo, with a healthy dose of soul for good measure. It’s authentic, heartfelt, and often a lot of fun, with hooks perfect for gig-goers to get stuck into at live shows.

Therapy Machine feels like an ambitious showcase of what’s possible from the pair. From a heartfelt emo ballad that showcases Josh’s vulnerable vocals (“Face The Truth”), to the pacey nu-metal influences of “Therapy Machine”, to lead single “Mannequin”, an anthem for authenticity. And authenticity is one thing Those Who Dream have in abundance – the references are clear, but the end result is undeniably Those Who Dream.

For listeners like myself who bounce gleefully around the alternative genres, there’s plenty to get excited about here, and repeat listens only reap further rewards.
