Here’s our first official look at the Nintendo Switch 2

It might have felt like the world’s worst-kept secret for a second there, but Ninetdno has officially come out and announced its next console, the Nintendo Switch 2.

Firstly, we’re going to let the trailer do the talking (or showing) below:

While there’s not much in the way of specs here, we can see that the Switch 2 looks to have a larger screen and a new stand, in addition to new and larger Joy-Cons that magnetically snap onto each side of the console. While it had been rumoured that the older Joy-Cons would work with the Switch 2, it doesn’t look like that’s the case from this trailer.

We also got our first look at a new Mario Kart, which also feels like a long time coming. As good as it is, we just hope it’s not another version of Mario Kart 8.

While we’ll be sure to add more to this news as it develops, we do know that the Nintendo Switch 2 will be out sometime in 2025.
