On the Shelf: Little Creatures Original Pilsner (New Recipe)

Renowned beer champs Little Creatures have recently re-released their underrated Original Pilsner, re-thinking it with a new recipe designed towards a Northern German (Friesland) style. Up until now, the pilsner has never quite reached the same inescapable popularity as The Pale, Single Batches, and LC’s awesome seasonal series, so re-visiting their the pilsner continues the breweries reputation for constant, forward-thinking, “how can we make that better?” movement.

German Perle hops and 100% pilsner malt are now the stars of the brew, zoning in on that bitterness, which is complemented with a strong, spicy aroma. It’s dry, refreshing, and surprisingly light – the colour doesn’t lie – perfect for those looking for a more classic, clean beer. We could see these sitting right along the Dog Days at BBQ’s across Australia this summer.

The new “Original” Pilsner (ABV: 4.6%) has already picked up an award for Little Creatures to add to their sterling reputation, having been crowed the Champion Light Lager at the recent 2015 Craft Beer Awards.
