One of the most memorable winners to ever emerge from the Eurovision Song Contest, “Queen of Austria” Conchita Wurst, has announced that she will be joining a massive lineup for this year’s Sydney Gay and Lesbian Mardi Gras, taking over The Party stage at the Mardi Gras after-party in Moore Park. This will be in addition to her show at the Sydney Opera House which was announced last year in November.
After winning the 2014 edition of Eurovision, Conchita immediately became an icon for LGBT communities around the world, making her the perfect addition to the biggest annual after party on Sydney’s calendar.
Also joining the lineup will be Australia’s Queen of Queens, Mardi Gras Global Ambassador Courtney Act, who will be performing at 1am with an energetic live show which pays homage to the art of drag.

Mardi Gras Party Creative Director George Savoulis said, “We’ve revamped The Party experience this year, and we’re bringing the stage into the centre of the room. Epic and high energy shows will radiate the experience outwards into every corner. Now everyone has an incredible view for the Party of the year.”
Wurst and Act will be joining a live music program bolstered by some of the top DJ’s from around the country and overseas, including Tracy Young, Mark Picchiotti, Buck Naked, Mark Alsop, Victoria Anthony, Maze and Masters, Kitty Glitter, Colin Gaff, Seismic, and Tanner Derrby, with more to be announced over the coming weeks.
