Famed dumpling chain Din Tai Fung will be celebrating The Year of the Monkey in the most adorable way possible next month, offering specially created Monkey Buns along with new additions to their comprehensive menu. Available throughout February in Sydney and Melbourne, these steamed bao monkey buns will come filled with a creamy mix of banana and chocolate, priced at just $4.80 each.
Din Tai Fung are known for creating these fun, themed dumplings and buns for occasions like this. Just last year – the Year of the Sheep – saw some hugely popular Lamb Buns pop up on the menu, creating demand so high they had to be brought back towards the end of the year.
Four Sydney Din Tai Fung restaurants – World Square, Central Park, Westfield Chastwood, and Westfield Miranda – will be serving up these cheeky creations while Melbournians will have to head to the Emporium outlet to get their hands on these. Unfortunately, the food court Din Tai Fung venues (like The Star and Westfield Sydney) won’t have these on hand.
Along with these buns, which will be available from 1st to 29th Feb, Din Tai Fung are adding some new menu items including Crispy Golden Seafood Roll and Egg Fried Rice with shredded beef and truffle oil.
