20th April marks the official 420 Day, AKA National Weed Day, and seeing as really unhealthy, excellent food and marijuana has been forever linked there are unsurprisingly a few specials going around Sydney for today. We, of course, have Newtown’s brand new D’Munchies stoner cafe, as well as local favourites like Butter in Surry Hills, Burgers by Josh in Annandale, and Milk Bar by Cafe Ish in Redfern creating some limited edition exclusives to celebrate stoners the world over.
Butter (Surry Hills)
Surry Hills house of fresh kicks, crisp champagne, crunchy fried chicken, and dope hip hop will be offering this special creation by Head Chef Julian Cincotta for one week only from today. Dubbed the Love Won’t Get You High Like This, the indulgent offering is a fried chicken Belgian waffle sandwich deluxe with maple mayo, laces, peanut butter soft-serve, choc chips, and rainbow sprinkles. Head on down when you clock off and scoff this bad boy down to the sounds of boom bap.

Milk Bar by Cafe Ish (Redfern)
The team at this Redfern staple have come up with yet another impressive burger special: The 420. Their specials have been growing and growing as of late, and this massive munchie-friendly burger is no exception with three beef patties, three slices of melted cheese, cola bacon, smokey BBQ sauce, hash brown, green sauce, Maple bacon doughnut, and a Jalapeno popper.

D’Munchies (Newtown)
Newtown’s brand new stoner inspired cafe (you know, the one with deep-fried ravioli nachos on the menu) is unsurprisingly doing it big with a laneway BBQ happening today. They’ll be cooking up a feast of German sausages, vegan hotdogs, hot Nutella doughnuts and ice cream, and more, with music by Christian D’Amico. More details at the official Facebook event page HERE.

Burgers by Josh (Annandale)
There’s a heavy rumour floating around that Burgers by Josh has been busy engineering a 420 Burger to launch today. No details have confirmed as of yet but keep an eye on his Instagram and Facebook channels for updates!
**UPDATE** Burgers by Josh have announced that tonight’s 420 special will be the happiest happy meal ever made, featuring a Quarter Pounder N Fries (the current weekly special), a side of fries with green seasoning, and one Annandale Alcoholic spider. DAMN! The kitchen will open from 5pm today.
