Devon Cafe and Devon on Danks celebrate truffle season with limited edition dishes (Sydney)

Chef Zachary Tan is a busy man as of late. As well as highlighting exceptional – and fun – Malaysian food at his new bar Lazy Suzie, he continues to help design new menu items for Devon Café and Devon on Danks alongside Chef Jacquie Ektoros. Now that we’ve entered the always anticipated truffle season in Australia (one of the best things about winter here), he has worked with the two wildly popular cafés to introduce two very special limited edition truffle inspired dishes, that will be on the menus up until the end of this year’s truffle season.

The Ultimate Toastie

The teams at both venues have managed to source fresh truffles from Manjimup trufferie Truffle and Wine Co. (the largest trufferie in the country) through specialist suppliers WiNC Group, using these to create two very special menu additions that twist up old favourites to bring something new to fans of Devon.

J.E.T – Jamon, Egg, Truffle

Over at Devon Café on Devonshire Street in Surry Hills, diners will be able to order up returning champion The Ultimate Toastie along with a generous Truffle Lasagne with mixed mushrooms and micro herb salad, and some Super Fries which are served with gruyere, garlic, cheese sauce, and black truffle. On the Waterloo side, at Devon on Danks, the menu features a warm Mushroom Pasta Pappardelle (headline image) with porcini cream and grana padao, the J.E.T which is jamon serrano, egg, truffle, and gruyere gougère, and a French Toast with truffle honey jelly, truffle, and vanilla cream, truffle ice cream, and shaved black truffle.
