A bar where you can down a cocktail named Tee Quila Mocking Birdie and then sink a hole in one on a mini-golf course. Sounds like a distant fantasy right? Wrong. The old church located at 25 Warner Street in Fortitude Valley – the one that has seen many a trashy pop-up club in the past – is about to welcome new tenant Holey Moley Golf Club at the end of next month, a new concept by the minds behind Strike Bowling which combines a retro cocktail bar with two different nine-hole mini golf courses with a whole bunch of inspiration from surf culture, retro video games, and even pop culture touchstones like Alice in Wonderland and Game of Thrones thrown in for good measure.
The colourful cocktail bar will be brightening the dark space come 29th September 2016, bringing Brisbane local and visitors a bar unlike any seen before, including a gourmet kitchen and plenty of bespoke cocktails. In addition to the Tee Quila Mocking Birdie mentioned above, expect playfully named concoctions like the Teeyonce Holes, the So Par So Good, and the Arnold Palmer. To round out the drinks list there will be a “Don’t Worry Be Hoppy” beer selection and some alcohol free drinks. To soak it all up, expect a gourmet kitchen to pumping out a to-be-announced menu.
While full details will be released closer to the date, you can keep track of any developments on the official website here.
