Win a bottle of Hendrick’s Gin with one of their quirky teacups CLOSED

Famous gin brand Hendrick’s put out a bit of a call to Australians earlier this year, asking for help on a horticultural quest to create and cultivate a world-first Australia cucumber with quintessentially Australian ingredients. Using their social media channels, they asked people across the country which Aussie ingredients should be used for the “Unusually Australian Cucumber”, working along the idea that this will be the most unique cucumber grown in history. The ingredients voted on by the thousands were emu poop, yabby shells, and soil from the Simpson Dessert.

“Although it may seem like a peculiar combination, these ingredients will all play a role in the scientific uniqueness of Hendrick’s ‘Unusually Australian Cucumber'”, said Robyn McConchie, Professor of Horticulture and Pro-Dean of the Faculty of Agriculture and Environment at the University of Sydney. “The nitrogen found in the emu poop will assist with growth, the calcium in the yabby shells will increase flavour, whilst the phosphorus in the Simpson Dessert soil will help establish the crop”.

We’re flattered that Hendrick’s chose Australia as their experiment, and to celebrate we’ve managed to wrangle a few Hendrick’s packs, each featuring one 700ml bottle of Hendrick’s Gin and one of their slick branded teacups. Want one? All you need to do is fill out the form below by Monday 31st October and we’ll send you one. Simple. Good luck!
