Din Tai Fung now offering giant soup dumplings seven times the regular size

Throughout the month of November several Din Tai Fung restaurants across Sydney and Melbourne will be supersizing their famous Xiao Long Bao as a response to a recent trend that’s been hitting dumpling lovers right in the feels for the past few weeks. What started in New York has since spread around the world, and restaurants from L.A to Shanghai have been offering up enormous soup dumplings, the latest of many food trends that ride the wave of social media around the globe.

That wave has brought the craze all the way to Australia, and of course it’s Din Tai Fung that’s taken up the challenge, upping the size of their soup dumpling to seven times larger the original serving. It’s so big you have to sip and slurp the soup from that steamed-to-order dumpling through a jumbo straw, a broth flavoured by the prawn-and-pork mince that sits ever so gently inside.

These gigantic dumplings will be on the Din Tai Fung menu at select Sydney and Melbourne restaurants throughout November (1st-30th), offered at $8.90 each with straw included.

You’ll be able to devour one of these at the following locations:

Sydney – Din Tai Fung
World Square
Central Park
Westfield Chatswood
Westfield Miranda

Melbourne – Din Tai Fung
Emporium
