Back for the fourth year in a row, Shangri-La Hotel’s Sweet Street will be popping up at the property’s Grand Ballroom, led by none other than master dessert and pastry chef Anna Polyviou who is heading up a sugary program from Sydney’s best. As has been the case in previous years, plenty of local businesses will be setting up stalls within the luxury hotel, offering guests a wide range of inventive desserts from Choux dessert burgers to gelato.
Anna will be debuting new creations, two versions of the aforementioned choux burgers, the first being PB&B with peanut cremeux, raspberry jelly and bliss bomb popcorn in a golden choux bun, and the second being coconut Malibu creme, tropical gel and sesame seed crunch in a gold choux bun.
Joining Anna on the line-up will be a who’s who in Sydney dessert makers: LuxBite, Knafeh Bakery, Textbook Patisserie, Andy Bowdy’s collaboration with Pie Country, Cow and the Moon, Butter, Thievery, The Screan Line, and Zeus Street Greek. They’ll all be hosting stalls in between frequent entertainment provided by graffiti artists, magicians, break-dancers, rappers, skaters, a cake-eating competition, prizes and DJ’s, including YO! MAFIA, DJ Nino Brown and DJ Brown Rice.
