This week Shane Delia will be expanding on his long-established and much-loved gourmet “kbab” shop Biggie Smalls, bringing a second location into the fold on Chapel Street in Windsor. He’ll be opening doors on Thursday 28th September, revealing a reloaded menu along with his best sellers, including the Biggie Smalls Snack Pack and a new creation made especially for the Windsor store, called the ODB with pork and prawn shumai, hoisin mayo, pickled ginger slaw and chilli jam.
Of course the menu will feature a bunch of kbabs both new and old, which in addition to the aforementioned ODB include the coconut fried beef brisket, fried chicken, crispy pork belly, and grilled pork options.
“It’s always a huge risk opening up a shop these days, especially doing it at the level we do but I’m confident that there’s a huge gap down that end of town for our reloaded product”, offered Delia. “We really want Windsor to be a premium experience – world class spirits and beer, food and quality beats with a first-class audio system”.
To help this “premium experience” along, Delia has hooked up with plenty of local producers including Four Pines Distillery, who will be offering a special “Gin & Juice” which will change every season, with the first special featuring pomegranate, cloudy apple, spiced syrup and Four Pillar’s Rare Dry Gin. Other signature cocktails will include the “Back to the Bridge”, built with Tequila, pomegranate liqueur, Cointreau and sumac salt; the “One Love” with maple infused Bourbon, bitters and smoked blueberries; and the “Long Kiss Goodnight” with Dark Rum, spiced syrup, stewed applies and short bread crumb.
Though Collingwood regularly slang out tinnies of local craft beer, the Windsor shop will have a full set up with beer on tap, showcasing a bunch of brands including the new Brick Lane Brewery Co.
