Beloved Australian eyewear brand Oscar Wylee, which has showrooms all throughout the East Coast, will once again be heading into World Sight Day by donating 100% of all gross profits earned on the day to not-for-profit charity partner Sight For All.
All purchases made from Oscar Wylee’s ten retail and online stores on Thursday 12th October will be contributing towards the brand’s ongoing commitment to combating preventable eye diseases. Oscar Wylee hopes to raise over $20,000 on the day, which would be a 200% increase from last years efforts. All revenue raised from the sales on the day will go towards helping Sight For All initiatives for 2017 and beyond.
“Creating conversation surrounding World Sight Day addresses critical elements of the vision care crisis and a chance to educate the public on blindness prevention”, said Oscar Wylee director Jack Teoh. “2017 has been marked with protests and conflict, making it even more crucial for Oscar Wylee to action its commitment to caring for others, leaving a positive impact and driving real, lasting change”.
Previous funds raised by Oscar Wylee have directly assisted Sight For All’s initiatives across a number of projects including establishing a Childhood Vision Screening Project in Adelaide, Aboriginal Eye Health blindness awareness initiatives as well as the training of ophthalmologists to deliver eye health care projects free of charge to partner countries and communities.
If you’re hoping to grab some high quality (and very affordable) eyeglasses or sunglasses anytime soon, this Thursday is as good a time as any. To check out their range head to the official Oscar Wylee website HERE.
