One of the country’s biggest hospitality groups, Solotel, are putting the finishing touches on their newest venture. Coming to Brisbane’s Southbank in December will be Little Big House, a dedicated house party destination slash gastropub, shaped into a heritage listed house that dates back to 1889.
The house, which has gone from being a private residence to the Southbank Police Station, will be gutted and reopened as a pub with an incredibly playful design brief, bringing in palm trees, foliage, fairy lights and use of the verandas to the iconic facade.
“Southbank is a premier destination – and we’re really excited to bring a fun new experience to the area”, said Solotel Director Bruce Solomon. “This is my third venture with Matt and we can’t wait for the locals to see what’s inside. The building and its history really demanded something special.
The Matt whom Bruce is referring to is none other than Matt Moran, with the chef forming part of the team that will drive Little Big House to the forefront of Brisbane’s expanding food and drink scene. The drinks menu will be kept simple with a focus on local QLD seasonal ingredients, while the food puts some heavy weighting on rotisserie roasted chicken, meats and seafood.
More details will be on the way once Little Big House actually opens, but for now you stay up to date via the website listed below.
