a prawn, a pineapple, and soon enough a tin of Milo. That’s right, Australia’s next upscaled icon will be the good ol’ Milo tin in response to high demand put on Nestlé and the powers that be for the country’s next ‘big thing’ to be everyone’s favourite chocolate drink.
Spanning just a few days, more than 80,000 Australians threw their support behind a call for a “Big Milo Tin” to celebrate the drink. It’s a demand Nestlé couldn’t ignore, with Factory Manager Mat Oram explaining that they’ve been “blown away by the level of support of the Big Milo Tin.”
“What started as a fun idea has quickly grown into something much bigger”, continued Oram. “We’re delighted to give something back to Milo fans and celebrate the rich 83-year Australian heritage of the Milo brand”.
Milo fans will be called upon the help decide where the actual thing will be placed, with locations in and around Smithtown – the home of Milo – being the most likely. The call out will be put to fans throughout 2018, the status of which can be tracked via Milo’s official Facebook page.
“With the history of Milo deeply rooted in Smithtown, it will be wonderful to share this celebration with the local community and put this great town on the map”, added Oran.
The ‘Big Milo Tin’ will be launched in 2019 to coincide with the 85th birthday of Milo.
