The annual Ballarat Beer Festival will make it’s return this weekend, bringing punters one full day packed with over 150 craft brews lined up and down Lake Wendouree. A total of 34 brewers will be on-site to help the shady banks transform into a beer lovers paradise, highlighting both small and emerging independent breweries and established giants along with a dozen food stalls serving up all types of street eats.
Regarded as one of the top three beer festivals in Australia, the festival regularly seeks to salute the town’s strong brewing traditions centered around the homebrew competition which will see one winner getting the chance to commerically brew their recipe, for display over at Ballarat’s first craft beer pub The Mallow.
Though beer-focused, there will also be plenty of wineries as well as pop-up bars whipping up signature cocktails. Classes are included throughout the day, with sessions led by the Beer Diva and Professor Pilsner, there’s enough beer trivia and musical bingo games to keep punters busy in between, and a there’ll even be a brewer’s sack race.
As always, music lovers will be well taken care of with a line-up headed by Vanns taking to the stage to help soundtrack the relaxed festival.
The Ballarat Beer Festival is held on Saturday (11am-9pm). Tickets range from $28 to $190 (all inclusive package). For more information and tickets click HERE.
