Mike McEnearney has added a second iteration of his famed Kitchen By Mike concept to Sydney Airport’s improved dining scene, but this time it’s the spin-off “Express” version. Designed to offer high quality meals for passengers on-the-go, Kitchen By Mike Express has popped up at Sydney Airport’s T1 International before the security checkpoints for those looking to sample the restaurant’s healthy and fresh options despite time constraints.
The newly opened venue is the second offering for McEnearney’s Kitchen by Mike brand, which also stands with a full-service venue in the same terminal but after the security checkpoint. That one has been opened for quite some time now and has since proven to be one of the more successful outlets for the airport’s improved dining precinct.
“As well as offering an exceptional dine-in experience, Mike has designed take-away packs, which are perfect for passengers arriving back into the country and our busy staff to grab on their way home”, explained Sydney Airport General Manager of Retail Glyn Williams, who views this as a huge benefit to not only passengers but also the 29,000 staff who work at the airport. “We’re continuing to transform the dining experience at T1, featuring a broader range of healthy and tasty food options with exciting concepts that wow customers and we’re thrilled to extend our partnership with Kitchen by Mike”.
The express menu includes everything from slow-cooked meats, salads, wraps and tarts to breakfast items like a croquet monsieur and Bircher muesli.
