Exclusively stocked at Heinemann Duty Free stores in Kuala Lumpur and Sydney Airports is an ultra rare single cask whisky by industry icons Glenfiddich. Found on the shelves across both stores thanks to a recent partnership, Glenfiddich 1977 Rare Collection Cask No. 15176 has been presented to whisky enthusiasts as a single cask, aged for 40 years with a modest RRP of AUD $4,352.
This pricey high-end expression was created as part of the Glenfiddich Rare Collection Programme with a single cask hand-selected by Malt Master B>Brian Kinsman. Staying true to the collection, the exceptional American Oak Refill Hogshead cask was selected due to its unique properties which shaped and nurtured the whisky for 40 years.
“We’re proud to continue our successful partnership with William Grant & Sons in this region”, said Head of Operations at Heinemann Tax & Duty Free Richard Goodman. “The exclusive product and customer experience are truly unique to our store, and we are excited to continuously elevate the travel experience at Sydney International Airport”.
Filled back on 13th July 1977, the whisky has arrived with a nose described as intensely fruity and sweet with old fashioned boiled sweets, pear drops and hints of caramel shortcake. The palate is described as beautifully rich, sweet and oaky with aromatic fruits that dance on the tongue with zesty orange and grapefruit, giving way to a finish of long, lingering oak notes.
The attractive clear bottle has been carefully designed to highlight the colour of the whisky with an elegant, unadorned aesthetic that includes a visible cork and hand applied temper evident strip. All bottles are presented in a luxurious hand-crafted leather box, emblazoned with Glenfiddich’s iconic copper stage and defined by suede-like lining. Each of the 150 bottles made exclusive to Heinemann and its partners feature a unique number to guarantee authenticity.
