Can a woman be a wingman? The Desperettes, a cabaret trio from Melbourne, are here to show us how we can apply the art of being a “wingman” to the modern woman, bringing their production A Lady’s Guide To The Art Of Being A Wingman to Melbourne’s The Butterfly Club for a May run, bending gender stereotypes and highlighting the ridiculous tactics used in the modern dating world.
The Desperettes feature Belinda Hanne Reid, Lisa Woodbrook and Natasha York who previously studied Musical Theatre together at the Queensland Conservatorium of Music. The performance promises to be a display of dismal dance moves, tacky pick-up lines and tips on how to make the first move.
A Lady’s Guide To The Art Of Being A Wingman has seen previous success at Perth’s Fringe World, and after their stint in Melbourne, the trio will be touring the production around the world, which will include a stop off at the Edinburgh Fringe.
